Our experienced substation team allows NORTHLINE the ability to perform every stage of substation work from site preparation to full functionality, including control wiring, equipment testing and bus welding.   Northline's substation team includes our own civil division as well as highly regarded and experienced design engineering and testing and commissioning partners.  

Northline is quickly becoming a reliable resource for transmission construction and maintenance.  Northline's transmission team excels in the construction of all phases of medium and light transmission lines. The disciplines include installation of all types of foundations, lattice structures, steel pole structures, wood pole structures and the installation of conductor wires, fiber optic ground wire and fiber optic cables both overhead and underground.  With our impressive off-road equipment fleet and extensive experience with rough terrain, Northline is now known to our customers as the go-to-firm that continues to succeed in managing the current challenges facing the utility industry.

The NLU distribution team brings specific advantages to distribution work with the ability to engineer, procure and construct.  We are aligned with professional engineers to design distribution lines, meeting the standards of utilities across the country.  NORTHLINE has alliances with various national manufacturers and suppliers to obtain the necessary and specific materials as needed by our customers.

The weather in the Northeastern US has proven to be unpredictable at best and is known to take down power lines with high winds, heavy snow or even solid ice.  Northline is always prepared to implement emergency storm call-outs and can quickly come to the aid of our customers to restore power.  Our extensive resource of company owned tracked equipment, nationally available IBEW union labor and a highly reactive management structure allows NLU to be the most responsive emergency restoration team in our industry.

Northline's civil group has the capability to perform all aspects of ground preparation for any project.  With the most experienced IBEW groundman and operators, this team has proven success with substation grading, excavation and concrete foundations and piers.  Together with our substation electricians, NLU can complete any type of below-grade utility work including underground duct bank and conduit installations if all sizes.

Northline's inside electrical group provides a strong enhancement to our substation and wind farm construction teams by providing professional wire layout, terminations and connections work to form complete integration of relay panels, control buildings, scada systems, and wind turbines.

With unique experience in the utility industry, NLU's IBEW journeyman wiremen, technicians and apprentices complete our electrical capabilities and allow us to provide complete Turn-Key Substation Packages or entire Electrical EPC Wind Farm Proposals to our highly valued customers.
